Goals & Objectives

Conduct a Salary and Benefits Survey of hospital libraries represented by MDMLG members.
Analyze the data and compose a report from the completed surveys.
Distribute the results to the members of MDMLG by September 15, 2006 .
Monitor the professional library literature for articles pertaining to librarian salaries, especially those of health sciences librarians.
Submit an annual report and update the committee binder.
Submit appropriate materials to the Archives.

Accomplishments

The 2006 Salary and Benefits Survey was mailed to 30 MDMLG managers of hospital-based libraries in the metropolitan Detroit area on June 1, 2006 .
The survey data were compiled and the results were posted on the members-only portion of the MDMLG website on September 15, 2006 .
A request for membership feedback on the survey was posted on the MDMLG listserv in May.
The professional library literature was monitored for articles pertaining to librarian salaries. The MDMLG Compensation & Benefits Resources web page was updated.
