Objectives:
- Complete a "value" survey of the members of
MDMLG to assess their usage of the compensation and benefit
information analysis and adjust the full survey as necessary.
- Distribute the modified survey to the members of
MDMLG, compile data and disseminate a report of the survey results by
the end of the calendar year.
- File an annual report and maintain the committee file
for the Archives.
Accomplishments:
- Developed and completed a "value" survey
that requested feedback and ideas with regard to the Salary and
Benefits Survey completed in 2002. The survey was conducted
electronically via the MDMLG website. Eight responses were received to
the "value" survey and most indicated that the survey had
assisted them in gaining wage adjustments.
- Developed and distributed the 2004 MDMLG Salary and
Benefit survey to 36 hospital library managers in the Detroit Metro
area. Survey results will be compiled and disseminated to the
membership later this year.
Recommendations:
- Instead of conducting a formal "value"
survey, future Compensation & Benefits Committee members may want
to consider simply requesting survey modification ideas and feedback
at a business meeting. Previous feedback surveys indicate that the
actual Salary and Benefits Survey is useful and a formal needs
assessment is probably no longer necessary.
